Vinyl isn't itself slippery, but like any flooring, it can become slippery under certain conditions. For instance, surface moisture, grease, and polish could all present a slipping hazard. The good news is that these are easily avoided if you take care to mop up spills quickly, and use specially-formulated cleaning solutions like Bellawood Floor Cleaner. This will help you to clean your floor's surface without leaving further residue.

The specific type of vinyl you choose also makes a difference. Rugs and furniture are less likely to slide around on textured vinyl flooring. Rigid vinyl plank (RVP) flooring offers our most realistic textures—these are part of the plank's wear layer, so you can enjoy flooring that has substance as well as style.

Although vinyl flooring is a secure option, taking a few extra precautions won't hurt. We recommend adding transitional trims between different floor surfaces or under doors. You might also want to fix rubber or felt pads to the underneath of your furniture, or anti-slip matting to your rugs, to help avoid scuffs as these things slide around.
