Trends come and go, but some designs are timeless. Your decor might change, your family might grow, and your spaces might be used differently than you’d ever imagined. You need a floor that will look good and perform well throughout all the changes the future might bring. Something durable and classic. Something that looks well-worn and well-loved.

The look of fine-grained, wire-brushed engineered hardwood checks all those boxes.

We think that’s a huge reason behind the continued popularity of LL Flooring’s Bellawood StyleLife collection—12 varieties of white oak engineered hardwood named after famous European cities, such as Athens, Vienna, and Florence.

“Bellawood StyleLife remains a perennial favorite of our floors and it’s easy to see why, because this line truly captures the understated elegance of classic European design in a range of muted colors that works with a wide range of décor,” says Jen Meska, of LL Flooring.

“The finer, wavy wood grains help elongate a space plus the extra-long board lengths, these floors deliver less interruption of the exquisite natural variation in the wood’s tone and character.”

Each Bellawood Stylelife floor comes in the trend-forward wide planks — 7-½-inch-wide — topped with a 4-millimeter hardwood veneer—the thickest LL offers—to provide added durability. The character of the floor is further enhanced with a wire-brushed finish to add texture —this distressing technique gives floors a natural, time-worn appeal. The floors are factory-finished with a premium aluminum oxide fortified coating, giving them excellent resistance to stains, scuffs, and scratches.

Each floor in this line is constructed from several real wood layers, with the grain of the adjacent layers oriented perpendicular to each other. Because wood expands and contracts in the direction of the grain, each layer stabilizes the next, resulting in a product that is less susceptible to the effects of moisture and temperature change over long periods of time.

“I love the Amsterdam floor, it’s one of the most popular choices in the Bellawood Stylelife lineup,” says Meska.

“It has these lovely rich blonde tones that make the medium-depth browns of mid-century furniture glow in the natural light.”

"Geneva is also quite popular," says Meska. "This floor brings a deeper, honeyed tones that are just a bit darker and more varied. It would look right at home in a farmhouse-chic design."

The subtle blue tones in Barcelona act as a nice anchor for moody dark walls and lighter wood furniture.Or if you’re looking for something even more dramatic, the rich stain of Bordeaux or the chocolate-colored Montpellier could be the robust foundation that sets off a white-on-white minimalist design in the walls and furniture.
